Portrait of Geoff Taylor

Geoff Taylor

Co-CEO & CTO

Geoff Taylor is the founder, Co-CEO and CTO of Bitruvius, where he co-leads the company and drives its technology strategy, architecture, and core engineering. His work spans the foundational codecs, high-performance data infrastructure, cloud-native formats, and developer platforms behind Bitruvius.

He brings more than 14 years of experience at the leading edge of 3D, imagery, remote sensing, and geospatial technology, spanning engineering, solutions architecture, product, and business development. At Nearmap, Geoff built and led the solutions architecture team responsible for SDKs, APIs, partner integrations, and petabyte-scale data pipelines connecting high-resolution imagery, AI, and 3D data with customer and partner workflows. It was there that he repeatedly encountered the performance, format, and infrastructure limitations that Bitruvius was ultimately founded to address. He later served as VP of Solutions Architecture at an AI startup, where he built the data and AI infrastructure behind its platform.

Earlier in his career, Geoff spent nearly a decade at Esri as a solutions engineer focused on 3D, imagery, remote sensing, and GeoDesign technologies. He worked across nearly every major industry vertical and helped pioneer early 3D geospatial and procedural modeling workflows.

Across those roles, Geoff saw the same fundamental problem from different sides of the industry: data volumes and computing capabilities had advanced dramatically, while much of the infrastructure underneath them had not. He founded Bitruvius to rebuild that foundation for modern hardware, cloud infrastructure, AI, and the next generation of data-intensive systems.
